It depicts Lady Liberty on the obverse side with 13 rays of light emanating from behind her head. Inscribed on the obverse are the words “LIBERTY” and “IN GOD WE TRUST” as well as the year of mintage and the W mint mark for the West Point branch of the US Mint.

As is customary with coins that are issued by the US Mint, a bald eagle is shown on the reverse side of the 2019 American Liberty High Relief Gold Coin. The image of the eagle that is preparing to land is surrounded by the inscriptions “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” as well as the coin’s weight (1 oz), face value ($100) and purity information (.9999 FINE GOLD).
Mintage of the fairly large gold coin (diameter of 30.61 mm) will be limited to 50,000 pieces, so order yours quickly before they are all sold out. Back in 2017, the US Mint already released a similar coin which can be regarded as its predecessor. That was the 2017 225th Anniversary High Relief Gold Coin™ which is still available for ordering from the US Mint’s Online Store. Whereas these 2017 Liberty coins had a proof finish, the 2019 American Liberty High Relief Gold Coin has an enhanced uncirculated finish.
Collectors that like the design of the 2019 Liberty gold coin but don’t want to spend so much money on a single coin are in luck! That is because the US Mint also releases a 99.9% pure 2.5 oz silver medal with the same design today for ‘only’ $99.95. Mintage of the 2019 American Liberty High Relief Silver Medal is also limited to 50,000 pieces which will probably sell out within a relatively short time.
